What is Julius AI?
Julius is an AI assistant designed for statistical analysis, data science, and computations. Julius uses various large language models (LLMs), finding the best one for each task, and writes code to analyze your data based on your prompt. The end-result is an intuitive way to analyze and visualize data without having to code, making statistical analysis accessible to everyone.
How to use Julius AI?
Using Julius AI is simple. Start by uploading your data—using the paperclip icon in the Chat page to add files. We support various formats, including CSV, Excel, PDF, JSON, and even images. Once uploaded, your files become available as a data source in your workspace.
From there, you can ask Julius to analyze or transform your data using natural language. For example, you might say, "Summarize this dataset," "Create a scatter plot," or "Run a one-way ANOVA." Julius will process your request instantly, generating insights, visualizations, and even code to help you make data-driven decisions faster.

How do I link a data source?
You can link a data source on the My Files page or directly in our Chat interface. For more detailed instructions on linking a data source, check out our Julius Start Guide.
Can I analyze spreadsheets with multiple tabs?
Yes! Upload your multi-tab spreadsheet as you would any other file. Once uploaded, you can refer to the individual names of the tabs in your prompts, and Julius will perform analysis on those tabs accordingly.
What do I do after linking a data source?
Is there a discount for students, professors, or teachers?
Yes! We offer a 50% discount to students and other members of academia. Just sign up, shoot us a quick email at team@julius.ai letting us know you're a student before subscribing, and we'll let you know how to apply the 50% discount to your account.

Is Julius AI reliable?
Julius AI generates code to analyze your data based on your requests. While the code itself is 100% accurate and the underlying statistical libraries we use are thoroughly tested and reliable, the accuracy of results depends on how well the AI interprets your requirements. For example, if you ask for a statistical test, the AI will make reasonable assumptions about your data's properties if not specified.

What data sources are supported?
We currently support any data file format, including but not limited to Spreadsheets (.xls, .xlsx, .xlsm, .xlsb, .csv), Google Sheets, and Postgres databases. If you have a different file format, odds are we support it — go ahead and try to upload it within the Julius Chat!
Is Julius AI free?
Yes! By default all users can send up to 15 messages a month with our lower tier AI models. Once you hit the monthly limit, you can upgrade your plan in your Account page.
When does Julius AI reset the rate limit?
Rate limits reset on the 1st of each month for all user tiers:

First, make sure your spreadsheets are properly formatted. Reach out to us at team@julius.ai or click the Help beacon in the bottom right corner of the screen if you're still having trouble!
Is Julius AI safe?
We implement multiple layers of security to protect your data and personal information. Our strict access-control system ensures each user can only access their own data in our secure notebook file storage, with Python code execution environments individually sandboxed by user. When you delete data within the app, it is completely erased from our servers.
Additionally, we employ automated audit logging to track all data queries, enforce strict employee access controls, and require annual privacy training for our team.

We utilize strict access-control, as each user only has access to their own data in the secure notebook file storage — even our python code execution environments are sandboxed by user.
